Our Departments
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is home to six departments, each contributing to its rich academic tapestry. These are the: Department of Languages & Communication, Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy, Department of Literature and Film Studies, Department of Performing Arts, Department of History, Archaeology, and Heritage, and Department of Geography.

The Department of Literature and Film Studies offers a full package of literary, cultural and film studies, enhanced by a dexterous infusion of literary and Filmic courses meant to equip learners to match the demands and rigours of the 21st-century globalized world.

The History department at Kyambogo University holds a significant position as one of the pioneering departments since the university’s establishment in 2003. It is committed to fostering new approaches to the teaching, writing and representation of History, Archaeology and Heritage.
The Department of Geography and Social Studies at Kyambogo University, established in 2002 and situated within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, is a dynamic academic unit. Comprising 25 academic staff and 2 support staff, the department is dedicated to delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
