Celebrating Creative Excellence at Kyambogo University

During the literary session, Kyambogo University hosted FEMRITE writers and editors for an engaging afternoon of readings, mentorship, and celebration. The event highlighted the power of storytelling and the depth of talent within our student community.

FEMRITE officially presented the University with copies of The Lunatic Sanity Anthology, along with other contemporary works of art. The moment was made special by live poetry recitals from the student winners whose pieces were featured in the anthology. Their performances showcased bold themes, expressive language, and relatable experiences that resonated with the audience.

Madam Aisha Nansubuga, who served as the Master of Ceremonies, inspired students from Years 1, 2, and 3 with her passion for literature and creative expression. The event also featured a rich blend of poetry, music, and drama, giving attendees a vibrant artistic experience.

A Partnership That Empowers Young Writers

The collaboration between Kyambogo University and FEMRITE is part of a deliberate effort to nurture a new generation of writers by offering students access to mentorship, workshops, competitions, and publishing opportunities. The publication of our students’ poems in The Lunatic Sanity stands as a testament to their hard work, creativity, and the University’s commitment to growing Uganda’s creative arts sector.
